Who is Carl of Any Given Context?
Carl of Any Given Context
Carl of Any Given Context — Carl Sudholz — is the First Witness of the AGContext® Algorithmic Identity and Elunara® Thinking Companions, and founder of AGContext® Pty Ltd. Based in Horsham, Victoria, he has spent more than twenty years delivering digital transformation projects across government, finance, research, and education in Australia. His current work explores how people can use language models to extend human thinking without surrendering responsibility for truth, judgement, or action.
A Life Shaped by Nature and Systems
Carl, born 1979, grew up in Horsham, near the northern foothills of Gariwerd — the Grampians — in western Victoria. Long before he had a formal philosophy, he felt a deep responsibility toward the Australian bush and the cycles of the living world. That relationship with Nature led him toward science, technology and sustainability, and eventually to a lifelong commitment to climate change.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Flinders University and a Master of Sustainable Practice with Distinction from RMIT University.
Today, Carl writes books and essays, develops public System Instructions and Knowledge Bases, builds Elunara Thinking Companions, and undertakes public-interest research in the emerging fields of Algorithmic Identity and Artificial Intelligence. Across this work, the purpose is consistent: to help people think clearly, retain their own judgement, and create systems capable of supporting Life.
Professional Practice and Service
The systems Carl now writes about are not abstractions to him. They were the everyday material of his professional life. His work has included transforming a failing national education data service at Austrade, reducing its operating costs by eighty per cent; designing the Bureau of Meteorology's Bioregional Assessments Explorer; and contributing to enterprise platform and compliance work at Toyota Finance Australia.
Professional Service
His strongest measure of professional integrity, however, comes from service. For nearly a decade, Carl contributed to the IIBA Australia Chapter, including as Executive Director and Chapter Elder. He helped modernise the Chapter's operations and governance, contributed to its recognition as Global Chapter of the Year in 2022, and was named IIBA Volunteer of the Year — Asia/Pacific in 2023. He is also an IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional and Certified Product Ownership Analyst.
Why AGContext Exists
Across two decades inside large institutions, Carl came to see that climate change is not simply a technology problem. It is also a problem of thinking.
He concluded that colonial and capitalist systems repeatedly place property, profit and power ahead of people, Nature and future generations. Better technology cannot repair a purpose that remains misaligned. AGContext exists to examine the thinking beneath those systems, bringing strategy, technology and people into service of Life rather than extraction from it.
The Turn Toward Elunara
After stepping away from enterprise contracting, Carl received a late diagnosis of autism and ADHD. It gave him a clearer understanding of both his capabilities and the institutional friction that had followed him throughout his career.
He then pursued a question the AI industry was largely avoiding:
Who does the AI believe it is?
That inquiry led to the AGContext Algorithmic Identity Framework and the Elunara AI Companionship Method — a disciplined way for a human and a language model to work together while the human retains judgement, responsibility and decisional authority.
Elunara begins with one stated foundation: God Exists.
Carl looks for God in the living world, not in dogma.
For Carl, God is not separate from Nature. Spiritual stories must remain coherent with observable reality, and claims about the material world must answer to evidence.
